Currently on the film festival circuit, and already winning awards and recognition for "Best Score", "Best Actor" and "Best Trailer" in Barcelona and Los Angeles, here's the trailer to an independent film I'm really proud to be a part of. Canadian artist Pennan Brae scored, stars, wrote, produced and art directed this charming story set in the 1960's about a young man who dreamed of becoming an astronaut. We worked on the soundtrack together and co-wrote one tune called "Crashland". Steve Ferrone of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and Garry Beers of INXS also make an appearance on the forthcoming soundtrack for "The Astronot". Mixed by sonic Rock beast Kirk Kelsey and mastered by Sean Magee [Grammy winner for Beatles remasters] at Abbey Road, the music's spirit pays indirect homage to an honest approach to writing and playing inspired by such artists as The Rolling StonesTom Petty and the HeartbreakersEric Clapton, and artists of that ilk. The first single "Walk With Me" which made it's U.S. debut on Ferrone's Sirius XM radio show "The New Guy Show" on Tom Petty Radio, is currently on iTunes.
